December 7: Felicia was referred to us by Interact, Raleigh.
Felicia has been without her own vehicle for almost 4 years now. She is currently borrowing her sister’s van or taking a taxi to get around. Felicia is a mom of 3. Felicia’s children are all interested in participating in extra-curricular activities, but as you can imagine, that is very challenging without reliable transportation! She is working part-time as a CNA, but now that she has a vehicle she will be able to pursue a career as a rehab therapist which is what she is certified to do. For many rehab therapists they are required to have their own transportation to get to and from client’s homes. Thank you Mike and Sue Sweeney for sponsoring this car blessing! About her Wheels4Hope car, a 2000 Toyota Sienna, Felicia said, ""It means saving - it will enable me to save on taxi money. It means money - I will be able to seek jobs that will enable financial independence. It means joy - my children and I can enjoy having extra curricular activities in church, school, and clubs."

December 6: Paris was referred to Wheels4Hope by the CEF: Community Empowerment Fund. Paris works part-time and is going to school! She has been using a taxi to get around or getting rides from her family or friends. This vehicle will be the first car that Paris has ever owned herself, so this is a very exciting day! Paris plans to use her vehicle for school, work, medical needs, and church. She said, "This means to me that I will have a way to work, school, church, and be able to help others like Wheels4Hope helped me. I'm overjoyed because this will be my first car. I truly thank Wheels4Hope from the bottom of my heart for making this happen." Her car was fixed by Wheels4Hope and Premium Imports!

December 5: Milton and Latisha have been staying at The Carying Place since July. They have 2 children. Milton works full-time and Latisha is seeking employment. They need a vehicle for work and to take care of their kids. "This car will mean a safer mode of transportation. It will also take away the need of a car payment and maintenance issues for now. It will be confidence on the road to get from point A to point B. Thank you."

We need your help with an immediate need... We are 8 cars short of our 31 car goal for the 31 cars in 31 days campaign. Don't have a car you can donate? You can still help. If you can "Share" the video below with your Facebook friends or any of our status updates that most speaks to you, we would so appreciate it. Car donations between December 24 - December 31 will depend on what we can do within the next few days. Thank you so much!!!

December 4: Lisa was blessed with a '99 Nissan Sentra repaired by Wheels4Hope volunteer mechanics in our own garage. Thank you to Craig Green for sponsoring the car blessing. Lisa completed the Jobs4Life program at North Raleigh Ministries and is currently working part-time. Having a vehicle will allow her the opportunity to look for full-time employment. In her words, "Getting a car will mean that I will be able to work as well as to be self-reliant." North Raleigh Ministries walked alongside Lisa on her journey and our partnership with them allowed us to focus on the transportation piece of the puzzle. Thank you, North Raleigh Ministries!

December 3: A working mom of three, Jennifer’s previous vehicle was too small for her family and was very unsafe and unreliable. It barely had room for the two car seats in the back. She was constantly putting money into repairs for the vehicle, but it got to be just too costly. Jennifer has been working with PLM Families Together since July and just last month was able to move into her own place, so congratulations Jennifer! She plans to use her van to get to and from work and to help take care of her children. Kenzi who is 2 years old has speech therapy and other doctor's appts that she needs to get to often, and as Jennifer put it, "Getting a Wheels4Hope vehicle means a fresh new start for my family. A true blessing! My family and kids have been through so much the last 2 years and this is a way to success for us."
The Greens - thank you for sponsoring this car blessing. Julie Fertig and the whole team at News14 Carolina, you captured both the donor and the recipient's side of the story, and that was a first for the 31 campaign!

December 1: We celebrate the blessing of Stephanie's car: the first car in our 31 cars in 31 days campaign. Stephanie is currently in Phase 3 of the year-long Life Skills Program offered at StepUp. She has been without a vehicle for 3 years. She is working full-time, but getting to and from her job w/o transportation is very challenging. We thank sponsors Dick & Helen Rose who financially contributed to the cost of repairing Stephanie's car. Phil's Toy Store, Premium Imports, and the volunteer mechanics at the Wheels4Hope garage fixed it up for Stephanie. CARQUEST, our diamond sponsor, helped organize the car blessing. Stephanie said to WNCN reporter Melanie Sanders: "Getting a Wheels4Hope vehicle means a lot. It means I will no longer have to worry about transportation issues. I won't have to rely on others to take me from place to place. Also it will help me regain my independence."

This Thanksgiving Season, we are truly grateful to the team at https://www.facebook.com/Carfix4042 for all that they have done. We could not repair and recycle cars to people in need without your contribution. Away from any media attention, you give so generously! Thank you!!!
